All I want(ed) for Christmas...

Someday I'll write about Christmas 2021; it's something I'm still processing through. Someday I'll also write about the new year; how every year it stirs up feelings of hope and anticipation, which are balanced (or sometimes overwhelmed) with feelings of inadequacy, stagnation, and frustration.

Today, I'm just going to post a picture of my kid. It's a picture that I wanted to post at Christmas, because like a lot of moms in my generation, I wanted my child's milestones to fall in line with a planned online update. If I've learned anything from this child, it is that he will follow his own timeline - bribes, threats, and pleading notwithstanding.

Three weeks too late for Christmas, Dominic has a quintessential 6-year-old grin. And 20 Kenyan shillings just burning a hole in his pocket!

Happy New Year, and much love from Kenya!

Kim
